Google のプロダクトマネージャーは、担当製品の総合的なリーダーの役割を果たします。日本や、ときには世界中のユーザーに向けて、今までになかったひらめきや価値を持ったプロダクトを開発し、提供していくのが主な職務です。創造力と卓越した技術力をもつトップクラスのエンジニアとともにプロダクトを考案、開発し、公開した後も、ユーザーの声やデータをもとに、常に改良や刷新を図っていきます。エンジニアを初めとする社内各ファンクション（マーケティング、ビジネスデベロップメント、営業、法務、財務など）は peer という位置づけとなり、業務上の上下関係がなく、また、全世界規模で動いている Google の社員との共同作業の中心となるため、日本語・英語のコミュニケーションスキルはもちろん、プロダクトに対する明確なビジョンを持ち、強い求心力を発揮し、チームをまとめ動かしていくリーダーシップが要求されます。
2012 年、Google はプロダクト開発に精通した学士、修士課程の学生の皆様を対象に、東京オフィスにてインターンシップ プログラムを実施いたします。プログラムの参加者には、Google のプロダクトマネージャーやエンジニアとともに働いていただきます。世界中のユーザーに届くプロダクトに貢献したいと考えている皆様のご応募を、心よりお待ちしております。
アソシエイトプロダクトマネージャー（APM）は、未来のプロダクトマネージャーを養成するポジションです。APM インタ ーンは、Google のリソースをフルに活用しながら、製品開発に総合的に取り組むことが期待されます。日本をはじめ とする Google の世界中のエンジニアリングチームと共に、ユーザーのニーズにマッチした製品開発を担当します。 たとえば、Gmail、Google マップ、Google デスクトップ等のプロダクトは、全てもともとは APM が開発に取り組 んできたプロダクトです。また、Google 急上昇ワードは、東京の APM が発案しエンジニアとともに開発しました。イ ンターンはメンター社員と肩を並べて、多くのユーザーが利用するプロダクトを担当します。
インターンシップ期間は、2012 年 6 月 から 8 月の開始日から、最短 8 週間～最長 14 週間になります。スタート日、参加期間は、それぞれのスケジュールにあわせてご相談のもと決定します。就労ビザ等を必要とされる方はお早めにご応募ください。対象となる方には、応募締切前にご案内差し上げる場合がございますが、選考ならびに合否への影響はございません。

The 2012 Google Japan Associate Product Manager internship is a full-time opportunity for Bachelor and Masters students interested in product management and software development. Interns work side-by-side with Google’s own product managers and engineers in the Tokyo R&D Center to roll out new products and features to millions of users worldwide.
As an Associate Product Manager Intern, you'll work with engineers to define new features and grow our products based on your understanding of user needs. You'll also conduct research on markets and our competitors, focus on strategies that impact the direction of future products and develop leadership experience in a variety of Google's product areas. Technical, analytical and strategic planning skills are vital to performing successfully in this position.
This internship will last for 8 to 14 weeks, and can start between June and August 2012. We will accommodate your school schedule when determining the start date and duration.
