Wake Up, Girls！New Chapter

A teen drama series about the struggles of an idol group based in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. The “Wake Up, Girls!” — a girls idol group formed by small-time management company Green Leaves Entertainment in their comeback bid — debuted at an impromptu performance on stage at Kotodai Park on Christmas Eve 2013, launching these seven teenage girls onto their path to stardom.

Sightseeing Spot in This Area

Nicknamed the “City of Trees”, Sendai manages to have both the views of a large city surrounded by nature and the vestiges of a jokamachi small town. Not much remains of Sendai Castle aside from stone walls and a rebuilt tower, but the Aoba Castle Museum offers views of a full recreation of the castle through computer imagery. The panoramic views from the front of the statue of Date Masamune (as pictured) in the castle garden are not to be missed. In addition, there is the designated national treasure Osaki Hachimangu shrine, the Zuihoden mausoleum of Date Masamune, and more sightseeing destinations that immerse you in the history of Japan!
