[SOLVED] qemu-kvm, virsh cannot connect to hypervisor

Hey, so I've been following this guide to perform a single GPU passthrough to qemu kvm. However, my issue arises when trying to set up virsh. I am 100% sure that both

virtlibd.service

and

virtlogd.socket

are enabled an running.

However, when I try to run the command

sudo virsh net-autostart default

, this is the result:

nbtm@protogen libvirt$ sudo virsh net-autostart default
error: failed to connect to the hypervisor
error: Failed to connect socket to '/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock': No such file or directory

I have tried starting ebtables, and iptables-nft. They are both running.

I do also have IOMMU grouping enabled but I'm not sure if that'll have anything to do with this.

I'm almost pulling my hair out right now. I can't find a single solution. Every solution just tells me to enable libvirtd and virtlogd. Any help would be appreciated!

***SOLVED BY MYSELF***
It appears I'm just incompetent with computers. I needed to enable IO MMU in the BIOS (switch from Auto to Enabled). I then installed dnsmasq and the issue was solved
