Free non-commercial download software Vs Student non-commercial software.

Hello,

Could somebody tell me what is the difference between the Free non-commercial download software that is available for fortran compiler v 8.1 and MKL v 7.2 and the Student non-commercial fortran compiler v 8.1 and MKL v 7.0 available to buy at http://www.cs-software.com/? Whats the difference between their licenses and their preformances?

Did you look up the descriptions on the Intel sites?

If the performance of the free non-commercial download is better, it would be due to the 30-day access to download of the latest compiler update.

There are no actual product differences - the difference is only in the licensing. (Intel reserves the right to establish a difference in future versions.)

On the Linux side, there really isn't a signficant difference between Student and Non-Commercial. Student pricing makes more sense for the Windows products which don't offer non-commercial licensing.

Where can one obtain the "free non-commercial" versions of this software? I'm specifically looking for the MKL, for a class this semester of 20 students. I've found links here to the academic versions, but they are not free.

Some relevant web pages aren't accessible today. There is a posted e-mail in case you wish to ask specific questions on whether the non-commercial license is applicable, and whether the non-commercial compiler and MKL are bundled together: noncomsoftware@intel.com
