How can I change the default USB setting on my Motorola phone?

When you connect your Motorola phone and computer with the USB cable, the phone’s USB connection type is set to charging mode, which charges your battery but prevents your computer from seeing files on your phone.

To change the USB connection type to allow file transfers, swipe down from the top of your home screen and touch the Charging this device via USB notification.

If you regularly transfer files, you can choose to change the default USB connection setting, by following the steps below:

1 - Enable Developer Options
  1. Go to Settings > System

  2. Touch About phone

  3. Touch the Build number field 7 times
