Fairy Tail (妖精の尻尾 Fearī Teiru) is the titular guild in the Fairy Tail anime and manga series.

• Makarov (マカロフ Makarofu), Fairy Tail's third Master whose strength is recognised by the Magic Council, appointing him as one of the Ten Wizard Saints. He is capable of using many different types of magic, but prefers to use magic to alter his size.

Former[edit]

• Mavis Vermillion (メイヴィス・ヴァーミリオン Meivis Vāmirion), Fairy Tail's first Guild Master, who is buried on Tenrou Island. Part of the S-Class Trial requires candidates to find Mavis's grave.
• Purehito (プレヒト Purehito), Mavis's successor who left Fairy Tail in Makarov's hands in order to pursue his research. He has since become Grimoire Heart's Guild Master under the alias Hades.

• Erza Scarlet (エルザ・スカーレット Eruza Sukāretto), a former slave child who led a rebellion against her captors. She takes the role of Fairy Tail's disciplinarian and is considered their strongest female member. She uses a branch of Requip magic called The Knight.
• Mirajane (ミラジェーン Mirajēn), Erza's former rival who uses Take-Over magic to take the form of demons. However, she retired from being a wizard after losing her younger sister Lisanna during a mission and has since worked as a model and waitress at Fairy Tail.
• Gildarts Crive (ギルダーツ・クライヴ Girudātsu Kuraivu), considered among the strongest wizards in Fairy Tail and the only one authorized to take SS-class missions. He uses Crash magic which destroys things on contact. However, he is also a klutz.

Former[edit]

• Laxus Dreyar (ラクサス・ドレアー Rakusasu Doreā), Makarov's grandson who was expelled from the guild after a failed coup d'tat. He uses Lightning magic.
• Mystogan (ミストガン Misutogan), a prince from the parallel world of Edolas, who tries to prevent this world from being destroyed by his own. He leaves Fairy Tail after the crisis is resolved.

Other Major Members[edit]

• Natsu Dragneel (ナツ・ドラグニル Natsu Doragoniru), a Fire Dragon Slayer, and Happy (ハッピー Happi), an Exceed raised by Natsu, who are searching for Natsu's father, a Dragon named Igneel.
• Lucy Heartfilia (ルーシィ・ハートフィリア Rūshi Hātofiria), a newcomer who ran away from home in order to join Fairy Tail. Her magic allows her to summon Celestial Spirits.
• Gray Fullbuster (グレイ・フルバスター Gurei Furubastā), an orphan who lost his family from Deliora. He is Natsu's rival, who uses Creation magic to make ice objects from thin air.
• Elfman (エルフマン Erufuman) and Lisanna (リサーナ Risāna), Mirajane's younger siblings who also use Take-Over magic.
• Levy McGarden (レビィ・マグガーデン Rebi Magugāden), a bookworm who uses Solid Script magic. She is friends with Lucy, sharing each others' passion for books. She belongs to the team Shadow Gear, along with her partners Jet (ジェット Jetto) and Droy (ドロイ Doroi).
• Cana Alberona (カナ・アルベローナ Kana Aruberōna), a young lady who enjoys drinking and fortune-telling. She uses magic involving Tarot Cards.
• Loke (ロキ Roki), a womaniser who is actually Leo, a Celestial Spirit whose rebellion against his former summoner led to her death.
• Gajeel Redfox (ガジル・レッドフォックス Gajiru Reddofokkusu) and Juvia Loxar (ジュビア・ロクサー Jubia Rokusā), former members of a rival guild Phantom Lord, who joined after their guild was disbanded for causing a guild war.
• Freed Justine (フリード・ジャスティーン Furīdo Jasutīn), Evergreen (エバーグリーン Ebāgurīn) and Bixlow (ビックスロー Bikkusurō), members of the Raijin Tribe, who idolise and support Laxus during his coup d'tat.
• Wendy Marvell (ウェンディ・マーベル Wendi Māberu) and Charle (シャルル Sharuru), former members of Cait Shelter, who join Fairy Tail after their guild is dissolved by their Guild Master.
• Panther Lily (パンサー・リリー Pansā Rirī), an Exceed from Edolas who joined Fairy Tail to follow Gajeel Redfox.

Minor Members[edit]

• Macao Conbolt (マカオ・コンボルト Makao Konboruto) and Wakaba Mine (ワカバ・ミネ Wakaba Mine), veteran members who enjoy drinking. Macao uses magic to create purple flames, while Wakaba controls smoke using his. Macao's son Romeo wishes to join Fairy Tail in the future.
• Reedus Jonah (リーダス・ジョナー Rīdasu Jonā), a large man who uses magic to turn drawings into real objects. He used to be thin, but asked Makarov to enlarge his body so that he can draw on his body more easily.
• Nab Lasaro (ナブ・ラサロ Nabu Rasaro), a tanned man who uses Possession magic. He is known for perpetually hanging around the Request Board hesitating to take a mission.
• Alzack Connell (アルザック・コネル Aruzakku Koneru) and Bisca Mulan (ビスカ・ムーラン Bisuka Mūran), two wizards from the West who use Requip magic with their guns. They both harbour secret crushes on each other.
• Warren Rocko (ウォーレン・ラッコー Wōren Rokkō), a man whose magic allows him and others to communicate telepathically. He helps coordinate Fairy Tail during Laxus's coup d'tat.
• Vijeeter Ecor (ビジター・エコー Bijitā Ekō), a man who is normally seen dancing around the Fairy Tail bar. His magic allows his dances to affect other surrounding wizards.
• Max Alors (マックス・アローゼ Makkusu Arōze), a charismatic man who enjoys talking. He can control sand using his magic.
• Laki Ollietta (ラキ・オリエッタ Raki Orietta), an eccentric young woman who can use magic to manipulate wood.
• Tono Rabbits (トノ・ラビッツ Tono Rabittsu), a relatively young member in Fairy Tail, who uses Light magic.
• Miki Chickentiger (ミキィ・チキンタイガー Miki Chikintaigā), a wizard who prefers hand-to-hand combat, though she uses bird familiars to support her in fights.
• Mikuni Sin (美國＋罪 Mikuni Shin), Wan Chanji (ワン・チャンジー Wan Chanjī), Joy Fullborn (ジョイ・フルボーン Joi Furubōn), and Chico C. Hammit (チーコ＝C＝ハーミット Chīko C Hāmitto), wizards in Fairy Tail whose appearances are based off Mashima Hiro's assistants, Mikuni Shin, Bobby Osawa, Ueda I and Sho Nakamura respectively.
• Kinana (キナナ Kinana), a newcomer working as a waitress in Fairy Tail while learning Take-Over magic. For about 10 years, she used to take the form of a snake as a result of a curse until Makarov saved her. During that time, she was taken care of by a young man who kept wanting to hear her voice. Her design is based off one of Mashima Hiro's assistants, Kobayashi Kina.
