Buy ware for best price - Huh ?
Its been a while since I actually played the game properly.
They seem to have changed quite a few things without me noticing.
What happened to Buy ware for best price and Sell ware for best price ? They are greyed out. Why ?
As far as I can see, I have a full loadout of software.
What might be missing, or what did they change ?
No, I'm not interested in the manager softwares.

There are two sets of Best Buy/Sell commands available. One under the manual commands and one separated from them for home based traders.
If you assign a trader to a home base, you can buy or sell wares associated with that home base using the second Best Buy/Sell, but it's more like a dedicated CAG in running that command continuously once started. I believe this is what Arctanas is suggesting. The manual version that phknibbs mentions is a one and done trade.
In my opinion, CAG and CLS are better suited for trading from owned factories, both in purchasing resources and selling product. I believe best buy/sell software is required for the manual version, and in that respect I prefer MORTs with a satellite network allowing you to find not only a best prices selling product on your ship but best buy for a trip out.
Oh, and welcome back apricotslice! Your guides were among the first that I read and still among the top of my "go to" reading of guides.

Thanks for the kind words.
With the flop of RB, I'd more or less given up on X. Except I'm bored with the old games I've been modding, and suddenly thought of a way to play AP again that I hadnt really done before, but should now be possible given Bounce working.
So instead of building the closed loop SPP facility, as I've done for donkeys years, this time I decided I wasnt doing any station building, and I'd either make what I need at the PHQ, or buy it.
Hence my first need is a stock of ecells, and since I hadnt bought ecells in since the early days of X3R, I couldnt remember how to do it !
I guess that might be a reason for playing again now, I've forgotten so much over the years of modding, that the more basic game is an exploration again.

One of the benefits of getting older. Everything old is new again.apricotslice wrote:....

Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.
