I believe #EdgeComputing is one of the ‘yet unexplored’ technological frontiers that will change the way many companies operate.   Beyond sovereignty or sustainability considerations (eg. where to compute data?), the list of Edge-enabled (new) use cases will, with no doubt inflate in the coming months and years. Especially in environments where “real ‘real-time’” (mostly AI based) decision making can make a difference.   Our Edge journey at Capgemini started a few years back to offer today a first set of platform-based solutions. Its implementation in Manufacturing was still facing some ground reality about the lack of interoperability of most ecosystems.   I am therefore very pleased to echo the The Linux Foundation announcement with ABB (including B&R Industrial Automation), Microsoft, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, Siemens and Capgemini to set-up the #Margo initiative that is paving the road for interoperability in the industrial automation space.   A very warm “thank you” to the teams who made this possible with such a great collaboration spirit.
