UFO sightings: Bill proposes Commercial pilots to report UAPAgencies
A House bill introduced on Thursday proposes a framework for commercial airline pilots to report UFO sightings to the federal government. The legislation aims to safeguard pilots and airline employees reporting Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) from medical disqualification solely based on their reports, as per a report.
Additionally, the bill seeks to make it unlawful for airlines to retaliate against employees reporting such sightings or issue cease-and-desist letters in response.
Months after hearing testimony from military officers about mysterious objects outmaneuvering military jets, bipartisan legislation has been introduced in the House. The proposed law aims to allow commercial airline pilots and other employees to report UFO sightings without the fear of medical disqualification. This initiative comes following the Pentagon's decision to establish a website for military members and government workers to report UFO sightings dating back to 1945, the USA Today report says.

Although the website provides access to declassified information on UFOs for the public, individuals are currently unable to submit their own reports through the platform.

Earlier in December, Congress passed legislation that directs the government to eventually tell the public at least some of what it knows about UFOs but stops short of more aggressive steps lawmakers sought to force greater transparency around unidentified phenomena and extraterrestrial activity.

The measure, which was tucked into the annual defense policy bill that won final approval with a bipartisan vote, directs the National Archives to collect government documents about "unidentified anomalous phenomena, technologies of unknown origin and nonhuman intelligence."

Under the provision, which President Joe Biden is expected to sign into law, any records not already officially disclosed must be made public within 25 years of their creation, unless the president determines that they must remain classified for national security reasons.
