Will sfs files meant for Puppy 431 work ok in 412?

Hello

i am installing and running a Puppy distro which is 4.1.2. The distro documentation says that it uses, among other things, .sfs version 3.

So If i want to run .sfs version 4 app files (designed for PUppy 4.3.1) inside Puppy 4.1.2 must i first convert them to .sfs 3 files using the sfs converter tool?

Hardware. Pentium 4 Hyperthread 3.2ghz cpu, 512 DDR ram, 80 gig sata1 hard drive, nic card, creative soundblaster soundcard, nvidia riva tnt 64 pro graphics card.
