Note: Depending on your current choice in the drop-down menu at the bottom of this dialogue, the path in the upper part changes accordingly:
If you click on Standard template (*.mm) it will show you the system-wide path for templates, if you click on User templates (*.mm) it will change to the user-defined path.

yeah thanks @sfpcom, I found a work around copying the styles in an apart folder that appears when the dialog ctrl+shift +o is triggered. Anyway I found that I cannot use tab to navigate trough this menu(my politics of using freeplane is 100% keyboard, no mouse/touchboard as intellij fan).
NB. Another function that is not usable from the keyboard is establishing links between the maps. Because as far as I know is not possible to select two (non consecutive) nodes, so that can use ctrl+L

EDIT just found that is so useful to add templates in the directory freeplane xx/resources/templates, although is tricky to access to this template directory, better to copy it so that will be available from the picker where copy selection now works

If you go to Tools>Open User Directory, that will open a second folder created by the freeplane installation in the normal spot for things like this, the "Application Data" folder, where you CAN save and edit files in.

Not sure whether I am clear enough, so let's take an example:
I use a map that I had created using the available "Buzan map" template. Version 9 of Freeplane offers new, more up-to-date and appealing templates (by the way, I warmly thank all the people who developed them). Is it possible to directly make my good old Buzan map use one of these templates?
Otherwise, I know I can create a new map, and then copy-paste the content of my old map into it. But it would have me reset all the links.
