Viola mandshurica,commonly known as the Manchurian violet,is a species of perennial flowering plant in the family Violaceae.It is native to the northern regions of China,Korea,and eastern Russia.The Manchurian violet typically grows to a height of about 15-30 cm and produces heart-shaped leaves that are light green in color.Its flowers are usually deep violet or purple,but can also be white or pink.The flowers have five petals that are slightly asymmetrical,and a spur at the base of the flower.They bloom in the spring and early summer.Viola mandshurica is commonly cultivated as an ornamental plant in gardens and as a houseplant.It prefers moist,well-draining soil and partial shade.It is also used in traditional Chinese medicine for its diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties.
