Hi,

i got a problem with activesync, kolab 3 and my android phone.

When i try to sync my android phone with the build in activesync client i get
this error message:
Verbindung zum Server nicht m?glich. Versuchen sie es sp?ter noch mal. (No
Connection to server. Please try it later).
In roundcube i can see the device and can select wich folder should be
synchronised. But if i try to connect to the server, i get the error message.

Can somebody help me please? I have no idea where the problem could be.....

This is written in the /var/log/kolab-syncroton/ [1]

versions:
kolab-syncroton-2.0-0.2.git75ace1ac.el6.kolab_3.0.noarch
kolab 3
centos 6.4
android 4.0.4

Regards
Jochen May

I can verify that I have exactly the same issue. I have tested with 2
android mobile devices, LG NEXUS 4 and LG OPTIMUS G. I am trying to find
what is the problem. Using other clients like moxio, some things work but
not what expected.

I try it with touchdown with the same result. Some things are working for one

But i have no clue where i can start to debug or what i can do to fix it.

I tried and it works for me.

Are you also using kolab-syncroton-2.0 ?

I think 2.1rc* is available which should fix some issues.

I'm running kolab-syncroton-2.1.rc2 on openSUSE and I'm unable to
connect and sync using either the default Android email client or K9.
All it says is "Can't connect to server" yet I can access my server fine
via the browser.

Thanks,

https fails to connect regardless of device (mobile/desktop) yet ssl is
enabled.
https needs to work since you don't want to (can not?) run ActiveSync over an
unencrypted connection.

Please check the apache config to see why https isn't working as expected.

Regards,
I'm getting a bit closer to getting ActiveSync working, but not quite
there. I can now get the device to show up in the ActiveSync folder and
choose what directories etc to sync. The problem is the device still
refuses to "can't connect to server" yet it clearly has opened a
connection otherwise it couldn't have registered the DeviceID with the
server.

Andy

Thanks for this. It now appears to work fine. I can now connect etc

Only http works. If i try it with https i get an error that the object is not
found.
For the moment http is ok for me....

Syncron creates no log-files. But the debug option is true.
In the apache log i see only in the access log, that the lg phone is
connecting. The error log keeps empty.

I see 2 different problems discussing in this thread:
- LG phone cannot connect to Kolab ActiveSync service
- And ActiveSync is not working at all.

I can not sync with the server. My LG phone says that the server
is ot reachable and i shoud try it later.
I am with you, but unfortunately, as I wrote in my previous post, I
migrated to Cyanogenmod 10.1 and don't have any ActiveSync issues any more.
So conclusion here - LG stock ROM to blame.

Does https://yourserver.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync work in your
case,
Post by Torsten Grote
or also only http?
Only http works. If i try it with https i get an error that the object is not
found.
For the moment http is ok for me....
You probably have different configs for http and https virtual hosts in
apache.
Post by Jochen May
Syncron creates no log-files. But the debug option is true.
In the apache log i see only in the access log, that the lg phone is
connecting. The error log keeps empty.
$rcmail_config['activesync_debug'] = true;
$rcmail_config['activesync_user_log'] = true;

to make syncroton log separate files for each user.
You need to be sure, that you are accessing correct URLs (hostnames
included)

I will take a look for this. Maybe i change also to a different ROM. But, with
my LG Phone and my old kolab server everything work fine!

This is all set. Befor update, the folder was /var/log/kolab-syncroton. Now
its /var/log/roundecubemail/user_devicename. I need some time to see this ;-)

URLs are OK.

Contacts can be sync without problem. Calender is a little bit strange. If i
create a appointment on the phone and sync it, the appointment shows up on the
server. I can edit and delete this on the server. But directly after syncing,
the appointment disappear on the phone (but is still on the server). Also
there are no appointments showing up in the android calender. Thats a little
bit odd....

Jochen

Only http works. If i try it with https i get an error that the object is

For the moment http is ok for me....
This morning i played a little bit around. Here are the actual status:

Touchdown App: Mail works, Contact works, Calender not.
LG Stock: Only try Calender - not working.
moxio: Mail works, Contact works, Calender not. There seems to be a problem
with recurring events like public holidays. Moxio starts to sync the calender
and on some point it stucks on an pulicb holiday. This event is syncing again
and again and again..... I guess that Touchdown have the same problem. But at
the moment i don?t have any log-files for touchdown.

The LG log files are console [1], imap [2], sql [3]

Jochen
