Intel Raptor Lake 13/14th Gen Core stability issues now mentioned in GPU driver notes
NVIDIA is aware of Intel problems, recommends consulting CPU maker in case of stability issues.
NVIDIA has acknowledged reported issues affecting Intel CPUs, particularly the 13th Gen Core and 14th Gen Core CPUs within the K-series lineup. These issues can be seen as stability problems or video memory errors, often occurring during gaming or shader compilation. Users encountering such issues are kindly asked to contact Intel, which has set up a dedicated website to address these issues.
It’s worth noting that Intel’s website has been active since late February. Although Intel has acknowledged the reports and is collaborating with partners to investigate, they have yet to issue a public statement or provide a definitive solution to resolve the problem.
To recap, the issue primarily impacts Unreal Engine 5 titles, leading to crashes or failure to launch. The instability in Intel CPUs is often attributed to high frequencies that K-series typically offer. These are the fastest processors in the Intel lineup and the issue also mainly affects the fastest Core i9 models. Currently, reports only mention the Raptor Lake series (so 13th and 14th Gen Core i9 models).
Community suggestions mention downclocking or undervolting the CPU to limit such issues. However, it is about time Intel addresses these issues and provides clear communication regarding whether game patches or a new motherboard BIOS are necessary for a full resolution.
