These look great, high quality make and also still zero drop minimalist. However despite being identical in size on the outside the new model is too narrow and tight on the inside. Will return for either the W version or 1/2 size up.

Ok these shoes are nice. Very flexible and minimalist. They run a little tight. Made for thinner feet would make a great shoe for gym types looking to do legs days.

Update: I ended up returning these. The pain from the arch was too much for me. I ordered a wide version but they were still narrow compared to other normal width shoes I've purchased. Still think these shoes are nice but the Lem's Primal Zen are a much better barefoot transition shoe in my opinion (much wider toe box too but you have to order them on their website).

Like others have mentioned you'll want to order a size larger than usual and unless you have really narrow feet I would also recommend ordering a wide version. I normally wear a size 13 in a normal sneaker style shoe and a size 14 wide fit nicely with a little room for my toes to move around.

They definitely have more padding than I would expect from a typical barefoot shoe. For comparison, I can definitely feel a lot more of the ground in my Merrell Vapor. When I walk on an unpaved path I can feel the larger rocks but the small pebbles I barely noticed. If I'm walking on a sidewalk or paved roads these feel like more tradition shoes without as much padding and more flexibility, mainly in the front of the shoe. The shoes also feel very grippy.

The only gripe I have with them is I feel like there is a slight arch that digs into my feet occasionally. I've come from wearing shoes with flat insoles and the arch is noticeable enough that it does cause some discomfort after wearing them all day or going for a walk, but so far it's not bothered me enough to make me want to stop wearing the shoes. I actually think they're one of the most comfortable and light-weight shoes I've ever owned and the lightness of them makes me want to walk faster than in normal sneakers.

If you're used to wearing normal shoes, are used to a slight arch, and are looking for a lighter shoe that has more feeling in the soles but aren't looking for a "true" barefoot shoe or aren't ready for one then these are probably for you.

Go up a size. Very good shoe. Probably the only minimalist and virtually zero drop boa shoe. Very thankful it exists. Hopefully they do darker colors in the future since white gets dirty easily but these are doing well.

Please keep making this shoe! It's amazing.

Bottom tread pattern likes to pick up pebbles. I guess there's a little thing I could see improved or just be different.

Great shoe for what they are, a minimal, no frills shoe. Well built and handling everyday wear really well so far. They run somewhat small. I wear a 10 in every other shoe but could really use a 10.5 maybe even an 11. I do not have a wide foot but there’s no extra room in these.

I've loved the NB Minimus line for years. Low drop; nice ground feel. If you're looking for a barefoot feel that doesn't look ridiculous, this is the shoe. They're getting harder to find, so get them while you can.

I've been a fan of the New Balance Minimus line since they came out with it!

What purpose do I use this shoe line up for?
- Working out, very light sprints/jogging, strength training, deadlifts, etc.

- The minimus category caters to folks who need a wide shoe, are minimalist and want a no nonsense shoe that just functions!

Why can't I recommend this shoe?
- It does not fit well. I've tried my regular size, I've purchased a half size up and even tried the 'New Balance Men's Minimus Tr Boa V1 Cross Trainer' shoe. I'm not sure who is designing these shoes but I hope the team goes back to basics. We don't need a weird tongue or anything fancy. Just have a regular lace up shoe with the vibram sole that's tried and true (what happened to vibram and why aren't they collaborating on the minimus line any longer? The shoe is expensive enough and now no vibram? come on ya'll.), have a few good colorways at a respectable price point and people will buy your shoe.

- Like others are saying, these shoes fit too narrow! They need someone to actually test fit these before going to market.

What shoe am I currently working out with?
- New Balance Men's MX20v3 Minimus Cross-Training Shoe! I purchased these back in 2015 (yes I've been working out with them intensely for 7 years). Not only have I purchased the above listed NB shoes but I've also tried to New Balance Men's MX40V1 Cross Trainers & New Balance Men's 20v7 Minimus Training Shoe and they both do not fit well in my opinion.

- You can read similar reviews on New Balance's official website and the reviews complain of the same thing (sizing & being too narrow)

- I hope New Balance reads these reviews and there is better oversight. I'm still rooting for this category but I'm officially leaving Minimus behind (I'm done doing returns) and I'm looking for a different minimalist brand to cater to my workouts. If anyone has any good recommendations, let me know!

I bought these once using the try before you buy method. Ordered a 10.5 which was a bit small. But they had a bunch of dog hair inside them which was gross. The shoe box was also falling apart. I returned them and ordered the next six up which is 11. The fit is great. New balance makes a good sneaker. The problem is Amazon. They weren’t even in the original shoe box for one. Two, the left sneaker has a big brown stain inside of it. If the sneakers are used they should be priced as such. I don’t even want to return them because I need them for the gym. But it’s just such bad customer service. $130 for a used stained shoe that didn’t even come in the original box. Nice.

I normally wear 12 US mens. I followed the reviews here and bought size 13 and they fit perfectly. If I were to get a size 12 it would have been too small. These shoes were recommended to me from various weightlifting forums. Pricey but they are great for weight training.
