Headache upgrade but looks good
UPDATEI bumped this review from 2 stars to 4 because I finally figured out which setting works for the canbus for gmc (Cruze under simple) it’s not perfect, my steering buttons do work but the left buttons are reversed and when I use it, it scrolls through my xm radio on my cluster display but does change songs and so on in that actual head unit. Still not perfect but a lot better than not having them at all. Can’t give it five stars since I had to buy an adapter to use the oem cam, doesn’t make sense why they can’t just provide it with the head unit or put in the details that you’ll need one instead they railroad you into getting an aftermarket cam.Out of the box most of it is plug and the unit does look really nice and gives you a lot of controls and features. However I have a lot of gripes as well. First is the backup camera, I’ve spent two days trying to get mine to work with no avail. All to find out in underneath all the plugin play features it says you may need to purchase a separate camera or adapter harness… secondly, it says that you will be able to plug and play your steering wheel button functions, and again mine do not work and everything is wired in correctly. Lastly the can is provided to me has every unit EXCEPT the gmc sierra 1500 2014 model I have which is specifically what this unit is aimed towards. I updated the provided canvas and still does not give me my specific model or anything close to it, additionally the software cannot be updated with apk file that is suppose to be in the data folders but is not. May update review depending on seller, but be careful buying these units cause it’s an absolute nightmare when they go wrong.
