BRASS-LIKE SOUNDS WITH CSOUND

This is a small study I've made to explore the FM synthesis possibilities of Csound. I created a complex FM instrument that recreates the typical brass timbre.

You can hear a sample of these sounds. They are all rendered with Csound and then mixed and reverbered with Logic Pro.
Mussorgsky - Pictures at an Exhibition (Orchestrated by Ravel).
The instruments emulate 3 trumpets, 1 trombone and 1 tuba-bass.
SOLO SOUNDS
tuba - solo

Trombone - Solo

Trumpet 2 - solo

Trumpet 3 - solo

FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT CSOUND IS:

Csound is a computer programming language for sound, also known as a sound compiler or an audio programming language, or more precisely, an audio DSL. It is called Csound because it is written in C, as opposed to some of its predecessors.
It is free software, available under the LGPL.
Csound screenshots. The upper screenshot shows the "Orchestra", the lower shows the "Score". In the Orchestra we define the behaviour of our sounds and their nature. In the Score we define the events and how the sound has to behave in time.
I paied particular attention to the articulations. I programmed a sofisticated behaviour for both volume and frequency envelope; even the vibrato and the tremolo are connected to an envelope.

If you want to experiment with this sounds, work on them or use it for your own projects, you can download the Csound document

(of course for FREE!).

I tried to comment all the steps, so it's easier to understand what I've done.

Try it out and let me know if you have any suggestions. Let me hear if you make something good with this sounds!
