NEW YORK (CBS) Debrahlee Lorenzana, the 33-year-old who claims in a lawsuit that her Citibank bosses fired her because of her sex appeal, is now asking New York human rights officials to investigate her claims.

On Monday, the banker filed a complaint against Citibank with the state Division of Human Rights.

Lorenzana says she was a victim of sex discrimination and then retaliation for speaking up, and says she is taking action both for herself and to make sure other women do not suffer from discrimination.

Lorenzana's lawsuit against Citibank, which precedes Monday's complaint, says she was subject to "improper comments" and was reprimanded for dressing sexily - when all she was doing was dressing professionally. The lawsuit says she was transferred once before being fired in August 2009.

A Citibank spokeswoman says Lorenzana was fired for poor job performance, not her appearance. The bank says it's confident it will prevail in the legal fight. The bank has previously said her claims are "without merit," and has said she was fired purely because of her job performance.
