Riichi Ueshiba (Japanese name: 植芝 理一) is a veteran comic artist from the southern Japanese city of Fukuoka.
His early days as a comic artist were developed while he was going to the prestigous Waseda University in Tokyo back in 1990. After his second year in college, over summer break, Ueshiba took his first step into the realm of professional comics by writing the script for what would become his hit debut work Discommunication. He would then submit the work to Kodansha's Chiba Tetsuya Contest for New Artists. And to his surprise the short would go on to pick up the General Award for their 1991 edition granting him the option to be signed up to work on a series for the publisher.
Sigh! Yeah I'm reading this manga too! Why, you ask? Well, even I don't know anymore, I'm caught up in it much that I can't quit now, hopefully it gets better. I mean don't take me wrong, it's interesting but so far no character development has been done!
Honestly loved it, even though it was pretty weird with the whole drool thing lol, But I mean when you kiss your boyfriend or girlfriend saliva is exchanged soooo lol idk. Cant wait till the second volume is returned to the library so I can continue reading them. I also loved the art in the manga it brought my love for drawing back
A really good coming of age story. There is nothing paranormal or extra romantic, obously there is fan service, the obligatory beach episode but overall few cheeseyness. I would say it touches the topics about the boundaries that a relationship should have. Also the anime has a really good song.
One day, Urabe Mikoto, a strange girl who always sleep during class, transfer to Tsubaki's class. In a dim sunset light afternoon,Tsubaki woke Urabe up after the class over but she still slept. After Urabe went back home, Tsubaki accidentally tasted Urabe's drool and he is addicted to it. After then, they are becoming a couple and more normal sweety stuff start from here. This is a great comic that very suited with teenager age. Its art is great, simple with has a heavy message to the reader. For any teenager who like a bit of the "moe" and a simple but meaningful life to experience, this is a good one for you.
This is the story of a boy who is addicted to the drool of the girl who sits next to him in class. Addicted as in, if he doesn't drink some of it every day he goes into withdrawal like a heroin addict who hasn't had a fix for a week.
Oh, and the girl keeps a pair of scissors in her panties and whips them out at the slightest provocation to defend herself.
Yeah, even by Japanese standards, this is pretty damned weird.
So the basic plot of this one is a high school couple bond over tasting each others drool. Yup, it's a manga all right, and despite sounding pervy it's a pretty good one. The art is solid and the artist portrays the relationship interestingly enough. Some of the chapters feel like "wheel spinning", but it was pleasing enough overall that I'll probably pick up vol 2.
And what is with the art making all the characters look so freaking young? I always have to consciously think about the fact that they're high schoolers.
