Rosicrucians: Spiritual and cultural ideas more than magical
I am not in agreement with the author's interpretation of the Rosicrucian movement. I have visited a Rosicrucian museum and talked with the rosicrucians who manage the museum, there are spiritual similarities to Kabbalists, Hermeticists, and some Christian gnosticism in their beliefs. However, I find it more a cultural group or club. Maybe during the 17th century the group could have been similar to a coven but in the present it is more of a society like the Freemasons.

My father was a member of AMORC and before I attempt to join the order, I wish to know as much about the movement as I can. Mari Silva's book is an excellent starting place. I have a good idea of further reading and an idea of what they will expect of me. Not that my father ever told me anything about AMORC, but somehow I had found my way to Jehovah and the tarot via a different path and here they merge. I can't wait to further my studies. Mari has given me the taster I needed to urge me on.
