This is rightly called "the original" on its packaging. Although competitors' models look quite similar, this lettering guide is made of a slightly heavier plastic, and the numbering and markers on the wheel and the body of the the guide have been etched more distinctly, making it much easier to use. In addition, the fit between the adjustable wheel and the body is quite solid, and the wheel therefore does not slip, a major problem I encountered in competitors' versions of the lettering guide. Highly recommended.

The Lettering Guide is pretty great for making evenly-spaced lines on any blank sheet of paper! I appreciate how easily I can adjust the line spacing for making my own practice calligraphy sheets! My only concern with the lettering guide is that you are better off not using a mechanical pencil to make the lines, as the graphite tips will break easily unless you hold the pencil at an almost 90 degree angle. Nevertheless, I appreciate the little paper guide that comes with this, showing you how it works and what practical uses there are for it. JetPens' video on how to use the lettering guide is also very good if the paper instructions don't provide enough visual detail.

One of my favorite tools to use for comics and is a necessity to create decent lettering.
