Farewell Snow White
Beatrice Alemagna

An original take on the classic tale of Snow White that will appeal to children and adults alike.

To give her personal interpretation of the dark universe emanating from the tale of Snow White, Beatrice Alemagna frees herself from the codes of illustration and makes audacious mixes of colours and techniques that compose powerful paintings.

Taking the brothers Grimm’s version as a starting point, she tells the story we all know, but from the point of view of the Queen. In the first person, the vengeful, narcissist, unhappy Queen shares the torment that her hate of Snow White causes her, and her obsessive desire to destroy her rival.

The panting text in the form of a tragic confession echoes dense, bold and free paintings to compose an extraordinary, captivating artist’s book.
