Extraterrestrial fever emerged in the 20th century during the 1960s, 70s and 80s, largely due to films, but years before, even in the 19th century, unexplained strange occurrences had already been reported.
For many, it seems very logical that there is other intelligent life in the universe rather than just us and every UFO sighting claim adds to that believe.
The most famous UFO cases in history
- Roswell case: This is one of the best known, occurring in 1947 in Lincoln County, New Mexico. It was reported by a farmer who saw a strange flying object that crashed in front of his ranch. It was determined to be a hot air balloon, but the conspiracy theories are still out there.
- Westall case: In 1966, 200 students and their teachers at a Melbourne school saw a flying saucer that descended in front of them and then disappeared.
- Kenneth Arnold: Kenneth Arnold was an aircraft salesman and pilot who, in 1947, claimed to see nine glowing objects in the sky. They were saucer-shaped and flew at high speed.
- US Presidents: Jimmy Carter claimed to have seen a flying saucer in 1973. A year later, his successor, Ronald Reagan, also claimed to see one.
- The case of Murcia: It happened on the 6th, 7th and 13th of August 1962, as several flight officers were at the San Javier base and declared they saw lights moving sideways and vertically, something for which nobody had an explanation.
- The Pinto Abduction Triangle: Several young people claimed to have been abducted by extraterrestrial beings in 1990.
