Dwayne Johnson Seemingly Caught in Bizarre Lie

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson documented his "first ever" experience at In-N-Out last weekend—even though he's documented at least two other purportedly inaugural trips to the burger chain in recent years.

The wrestler-turned-actor, 51, took to Instagram on Saturday to share a video documenting his visit to In-N-Out, a hugely popular fast food fixture on the West Coast. In the clip, Johnson was seen meeting starstruck employees at the In-N-Out drive-thru.

Johnson was seen ordering three Double-Double burgers and seven orders of fries, before one employee asked if it was "OK for me and my manager to take a picture with you." The star obliged, but not before pretending to drive away.

He was also seen fist-bumping fans and employees and cracking jokes. When another customer spoke to him in Spanish, Johnson responded that he doesn't speak the language, before asking: "Did you just say how handsome I am in person?"

Captioning the clip, Johnson wrote that it was his "first ever @innoutburger experience. Rolled up in my pick up and tried to be cool af [as f***] with my order. But I didn't know the lingo, didn't know who to pay, where to pay, didn't know s***."

"But I'm a quick study," he went on. "Loved everyone's positive vibes and their 'holy s*** it's the rock' energy. LOVED the grub. And love how everyone in the drive-thru looked at me like I have three heads when I give them a tip."

"Thank you In and Out for being awesome and I'll see ya down the road," Johnson concluded, adding a trio of hashtags that included "#cheatday."

Entertaining though it was, Johnson has documented at least two other "first" visits to In-N-Out over the past six years.

In August 2022, the actor posted a video of two Double-Doubles and two orders of fries alongside his tequila brand, Teremana.

"This is history in the making," Johnson declared. "The reason why this is history in the making is because this is the very first time that I have ever tried an In-N-Out burger or In-N-Out fries—or anything from In-N-Out, for that matter."

Johnson said in the video that he had previously picked up some In-N-Out products at the drive thru "a few times for some buddies of mine. I've never tried it."

He was seen sampling the fries—and giving them the thumbs up—before mulling over which of his tequilas he should pair with the meal.

"This is my very first In-N-Out burger," he reiterated after taking a sip of his blended tequila. "That is a good combo."

In an accompanying caption, Johnson declared it to be a cheat meal "for the history books," stating that it was his "first time ever eating @innout."

He also shared a thumbs up emoji as his verdict, writing: "This cheeseburger connoisseur will now add In & Out to 'the list.'"

Back in February 2017, Johnson shared a photo of himself posing in his car with two In-N-Out employees smiling in the background as he declared another In-N-Out "first" as he collected meals for his wife and daughter.

"I've never been to IN-N-OUT before (I know, what an a******;), but when my lovely ladies @laurenhashianofficial & @simonegjohnson wanted late night grub, I happily obliged and pulled in the drive thru."

He thanked the manager and staff "for being so cool. You made my ladies very happy with the burgers, fries and shakes and that's what it's all about."

In a nod to the post being shared days before that year's Academy Awards were set to take place, Johnson added that if his 2016 animated movie Moana "wins the Oscar this Sunday, I will return—in my tux and completely destroy multiple burgers and fries to celebrate. I'm talkin' about takin' cheat meal to another level."

Unfortunately for Moana, the Oscar for Best Animated Feature went to another Disney movie that year: Zootopia. Fortunately for In-N-Out, Johnson has gone on to enjoy other purported firsts at the fast food chain over the years.

Newsweek has contacted a representative of Johnson via email for comment.

Back in 2016, Johnson, who is well known for his dedication to fitness, spoke about breaking away from his healthier dining to consume "massive amounts of cheat food once a week."

"It can't just be a normal, like, 'Hey, let's go have some burgers and fries, it's a nice cheat meal,'" he told People at the time. "No, no, no. With me, for whatever reason, I have to, what's that word, uh gluttony. That's the word. Yes. Where it has to be a massive amount of something."

"So I have this rule in the house and I drive everybody crazy. One is none. One is none. Get two, three, four, five of it, just a whole bunch and just lay it all out. Big cheat meals," he added. "Like OK, what shows are we watching tonight? What crime shows are we watching? And then I have these cheat meals and that's my vice."
