Court dates currently set for Alexee Trevizo, who was charged with first degree murder of her newborn baby

19-year-old Alexee Trevizo was charged on January 27, 2023 for first degree murder and tampering with evidence. Trevizo will be in court in 2024 for those charges.

CARLSBAD, N.M. — Alexee Trevizo, 19, has court dates currently set for 2024 for charges of murder in the first degree, also known as abuse of a child resulting in death and tampering with evidence.

If you may remember, on January 27, 2023, the Artesia Police Department were called to the Artesia General Hospital Emergency Room and once they arrived, began an investigation about an unattended newborn baby.

After performing an autopsy on March 28, 2023, investigators were able to determine the death to be homicide.

Formal charges were filed on May 10, 2023, after a criminal complaint was approved. She was charged with first degree murder and tampering with evidence.

According to New Mexico court documents, Trevizo has a pretrial hearing on July 22, 2024, in the 5th Judicial Court in Carlsbad, NM. Her jury trial is set for August 26, 2024 in the same court. These dates are subject to change.
