How can I use this ‘oa’ Sound Words List?

Our handy ‘oa’ Sound Words List Cards are perfect for teaching your First Level learners the vowel digraph ‘oa’. The A4 page contains four identical spelling lists with 15 words containing the sound. Words include coat, float, boat, groan, throat, and many more.

Save hours of prep time by simply printing and cutting out the cards to create personal word lists for each of your learners. Created by experienced CfE teachers, you can trust that these word lists are relevant and suitable for your First Level class. They’re perfect for revising and reinforcing learning of this vowel sound.

You can use our ‘oa’ Sound Words List Cards with the whole-class to assess children’s spelling skills, pronunciation, or as an independent phonics activity. Can your learners spell the words correctly using the look, cover, say, write, and check method? Or, why not send home these lists as a fun homework task to further consolidate knowledge?
