Product Description

The GDI GEOSENSIS X3 is a professional 3D metal detector designed specifically for locating gold and large metal objects that are buried deep underground. With its user-friendly interface, featuring only one RESET key for ground adjustment and three preset controls for volume, sensitivity of audio ticks, and rejection of metal trash, the GEOSENSIS X3 ensures ease of operation for both inexperienced users and those familiar with PI gold detectors.

One of the notable advantages of the GEOSENSIS X3 over its predecessor, the PULSE STAR II, is the Pulse Boost feature. This boost function amplifies weak target signals that might otherwise go unnoticed, achieved through higher power transmit pulses and shorter delay signal receiving filters. This enhancement significantly increases sensitivity and depth capabilities.

The frame coils of the GEOSENSIS X3 pulse detector are designed to be circular and collapsible, making transportation and storage hassle-free. The circular frame design focuses the pulse induction electromagnetic field into the center of the frame, enhancing sensitivity at greater depths compared to the usual square frames that disperse the signal over a wider area.

The GEOSENSIS X3 comes equipped with frame coils of either 1 x 1 meter square or 1.27 meters diameter round (standard equipment), and there is an accessory option for larger frame coils measuring 2 x 2 meters square or 2.56 meters diameter round. These frame coils significantly improve both depth and ground coverage compared to VLF detectors with small coils. Furthermore, small-sized metal objects near the surface and common trash, such as iron nails, pull tabs, or gun shells, are automatically ignored when using frame coils with the GEOSENSIS X3.

While small metal trash is ignored, the GEOSENSIS X3 offers a discrimination feature to help identify medium-sized surface scrap when searching for larger deep-buried masses. The metal discrimination function separates metals using LED indicators, distinguishing between Ferrous metals (like iron or tin) and Non-Ferrous metals (such as gold or precious metals). It’s important to note that a minimum fist-sized object is required for accurate metal discrimination when using frame coils.

The GEOSENSIS X3 is optimized for use with the ICON DATA real-time visualizer and data logger. ICON DATA is a compact data logger that converts signals from the X3 into 2D or 3D target images on a computer screen. This sophisticated tool provides valuable insights into the depth and shape of the detected targets. Scanning is performed as the user walks in a predefined grid area at a pace set by the ICON DATA program. The software offers various professional options for scan direction, grid dimensions, automatic data capture for flat surfaces, and manual data logging for uneven terrains with obstacles. Voice prompts guide the user through the scanning process, and the resulting graph can be displayed as a 2D or 3D image. The ICON DATA software also offers features such as probable target depth, zoom, filters, rotation, and export options for edited images in BMP, JPEG formats, or printing.

The GDI GEOSENSIS X3, combined with the ICON DATA real-time visualizer and data logger, provides advanced capabilities and professional-grade features for deep underground metal detection and analysis. It is a powerful tool for archaeologists, treasure hunters, and researchers seeking to uncover hidden treasures and valuable artifacts.

The GEOSENSIS X3 metal detector offers a range of features designed to enhance its performance and usability:

  • Cable Coil and Large Frame: The GEOSENSIS X3 KIT version includes a 4-meter circumference cable coil as standard equipment, which can be mounted on a large 1 x 1 meter frame. This combination enables the detection of larger metal objects at greater depths compared to small round coil VLF detectors. The cable coil is flexible and can be formed into various shapes to increase depth considerably.
  • Lightweight Frame: The detector’s frame, made of PVC tubes, is lightweight and can be easily ordered or constructed. It allows for the attachment of the cable coil and facilitates efficient searching. Two users are typically required during operation, with one carrying the frame coil and the other controlling the main unit.
  • Increased Depth and Coverage: The use of large coils allows for the coverage of larger areas in less time. The supplied cable coils are not part of a critically balanced circuit, as is the case with VLF detectors. This flexibility allows them to be formed into any shape or size, resulting in significant depth improvements.
  • Electromagnetic Interference Elimination: Users can create a compensated coil cable (crossed shape like “8”) to eliminate electromagnetic interference signals. This custom configuration helps enhance signal clarity during metal detection.
  • Ignoring Small Metal Objects: When using the large coils, small metal objects such as bottle caps, pull tabs, aluminum foil, and single coins are automatically ignored. This feature ensures a more focused detection on larger targets of interest.
  • Simple Control Knobs: The GEOSENSIS X3 remains user-friendly with only four simple control knobs. The RESET knob is frequently used during searching to cancel out ground signals and maintain optimal detection performance.
  • SUPER PROBE Pinpointer: The GEOSENSIS X3 KIT includes the SUPER PROBE pinpointer as standard equipment. This probe is useful for detecting metal in cracks, voids, hollow spaces, wells, or for more accurate pinpointing with metal discrimination.
  • Frame Coil Options: In addition to the standard frame, there are various coil options available, such as the SUPER PROBE with a 4 cm diameter and 20 cm length, round coils with diameters of 36 cm and 45 cm, and cable coils that can be mounted into square or round frame coils of different sizes (1 x 1 m, 1.5 x 1.5 m, 2 x 2 m). All coil options are waterproof and submersible.
  • Ferrous/Non-Ferrous Metal Discrimination: The GEOSENSIS X3 supports metal discrimination for objects larger than 10 x 10 cm when using cable coils. This feature helps differentiate between Ferrous (iron, tin) and Non-Ferrous (gold, precious metals) metals.
  • Automatic Reset Adjustments: The internal reset adjustments are made automatically when the power is turned on, simplifying the operation. Additionally, resetting to changes in ground mineral conditions only requires a press of the RESET button.
  • Target Indication: Targets are indicated through a backlighted signal meter and VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) audio. The audio frequency increases as the coil approaches the target, providing an aid for accurate pinpointing.
  • Compatibility with ICON DATA Logger: The GEOSENSIS X3 is compatible with the ICON DATA logger, allowing for real-time target imaging in 2D/3D graphics. This feature provides additional visualization and analysis of detected targets.
