The Massachusetts Elite football teams won their way into the Elite 8 of the FBU National Championship for the second year in a row.

All three teams competed in and won their Northeast regional bracket games, which were held in Holmdel, New Jersey, on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. Kentucky was the only other state out of 32 to send all three teams to the Elite 8.

“We are very proud of our teams,” said Mass Elite co-owner PJ Vande Rydt. “Our players have worked very hard to get to this point. We have 119 young men from 33 cities and towns across Massachusetts and represent a true cross section of football leagues and school programs.” Eight student-athletes from the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District and the Bridgewater Badgers and Raynham Giants youth football programs are participating.

Eighth grade students are Amin Abbassi, Myles Beckett, Owen Howlett and Kensley Rock.

Charles Swenson, seventh grade, is participating. Sixth grade students are Jon Cerullo, Spencer Kilsby and Joe O’Donnell.
