Excellent service - quick! The curry is savory and delicious. The cook of the proteins is spot-on and wonderfully crispy. I enjoyed looking through their menu as they offer a wide selection of tasty-looking food

Amazing service right away and awesome food! We got the donkatsu plate and the shrimp tempura combo plate. Both were very flavorful and made to order. This was our first dining experience in Tokyo and couldn't be more happy with the low contact ease of service. Special shout-out to the main guy running front of house and register, seemed like potential owner.

I was looking for a good katsu place and found this place thanks to Yelp. It was right by my hotel in Asakusa so even better. Katsuya is a tonkatsu chain that has big portions and affordable prices. Most of the katsu sets were 590 yen (about $4). We ordered the tonkatsu set (came with cabbage, rice, and soup) and the tonkatsu curry (came with rice and cabbage). The tonkatsu sauce was on the table. The tonkatsu was very crispy and not greasy at all. I actually really liked the soup. It had a lot of vegetables and konjac jelly so it was pretty healthy. The service was very friendly and helpful. They even give you a coupon for 100 yen for your next meal. I would definitely come back when I get a katsu craving!

I ate here during my first night in Tokyo. If you're a solo traveler like myself, then this is the place for you. Almost everyone there was eating alone. It's budget friendly also. The staffs do not speak English but you can simply point at the food you want. They have an English menu for foreigners. The food was good at a decent picture. The food definitely hit the spot. This place is a franchise so you can find one in another location.

I will come back here again and again and again whenever I visit Tokyo! The meat is tender. I had my first meal of the day here at 0700 right when it open and it was not too heavy. Thinking it may be too greasy but not at all. It was just the right amount. The soup was very well flavored (not salty like typical miso soup). Everything was just perfect. They have side salad dressing which is like peanut sauce but yet it's not. I wish they would sell that on the side. I would've purchased it and bring it back to the states. Love it here!

Katsuya is a great tonkatsu chain restaurant in Tokyo. I went to the Asakusa branch with my friends on a Saturday morning for early breakfast. I ordered one of their morning tonkatsu sets, which came with six pieces of tonkatsu, cabbage, a side of rice, and a side of soup. The tonkatsu was great; the pork was lean and juicy and the breading with pretty crisp. They had the typical rich tonkatsu sauce that enriches the flavor of the pork. The salad, rice, and soup were pretty standard. Very good portions for ¥500 - a perfect amount for breakfast.

Wow what a surprise discovery while looking for late night eats off the hotel. It's katsu heaven, if you like katsu of all kinds, this outlet won't disappoint you either your taste bud nor wallet. Very surprised to find their fried foods quality, all so crispy outside and tender inside. Also tried their karate, not impressed but katsu is bimb! You see the cooks prepare and cut up your katsu right behind the counter, from order to your table in 5-10 minuets, piping hot and crispy.

Great chain restaurant in Tokyo that specializes in tonkatsu. Prices are super reasonable and ranged from $5 to $10. We ate lunch at the Akihabara and Asakusa restaurants on two separate days and both did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is small and narrow with a long counter for business people who stop in to grab a good meal in a short amount of time. There are also several small booths to accommodate groups of no more than 4. They serve cold green tea instead of water which I found very refreshing. The flavor of the tea was very mild and surprisingly good. The servings are huge and the katsu is the best that we've ever had as it was juicy, tender, and flavorful, but also wasn't greasy at all. My husband had the curry katsu which he said that he would have licked the plate if he could. I had a lunch set with miso soup which cost around 700 yen or a little less than $7. The cabbage that they serve is also incredibly tasty once you pour the miso dressing on it. A great meal for an exceptional price! They also give you coupons for your next visit. Will definitely go back again the next time I'm in Tokyo.
