Jack Grealish ended the speculation surrounding his future this week by signing a new five-year contract with his beloved Aston Villa. The 25-year-old, who was recently capped by England for the first time, had been linked with several high-profile clubs including Manchester United this summer. But Villa have tied down their star man and captain to a new long-term deal, which will see him pocket £125,000 a week.“I am delighted to make this commitment to Villa,” Grealish, who scored Villa’s winning goal against Burton Albion in the League Cup on Tuesday evening, said.“It is my club, my home and I am very happy here. The owners have made it very clear to me how ambitious they are and how they want to build Aston Villa. There are exciting times ahead and I am very glad to be part of it.”Ex-Villa star Gabby Agbonlahor made an appearance on talkSPORT on Wednesday to discuss his former teammate - and the 32-year-old, who retired in 2019, has gone viral thanks to some rather eyebrow-raising comments.Agbonlahor, who scored 86 goals in 391 games for Villa, has compared Grealish to a prime Andres Iniesta. Yep, you did read that correctly.

“I’ve played with some great players but for natural ability, I’ve got to say Jack Grealish [is the best],” Agbonlahor began.

“I know I’ll upset a few players that I’ve played with but, for me, I’ve seen nothing like it.

“Even in training, you’ll have the quickest players, the best defenders, but he just runs past you like you’re not even there.

“The amount of times I’ve tried to tackle him when I’ve played centre-back for a bit of banter, I can’t get near the guy. It’s just that natural talent he’s got.”

He added: “It’s the movement of the body, a little movement and he’s gone. A little bit of acceleration when he’s running with the ball and he’s gone.

“He reminds me a bit of - I know it’s a big statement - Iniesta in his prime.

“He just got skipping past you, a little movement of the shoulders and he’s gone. That’s Jack for you.”

Iniesta in his prime, eh? You sure, Gabby?

While Grealish is a quality player, Iniesta was on another level entirely.

The Barcelona legend is unquestionably one of the greatest midfielders of all time.

When Grealish scores the winning goal in a World Cup final, it might be fairer to compare the two players.

Needless to say, Agbonlahor’s comments have caused quite the stir over on Twitter…
