The left-back would make the permanent switch.

Since graduating from his successful Castilla stint last year, Fran García has been having a great time at Rayo Vallecano in the second division. He initially struggled with a bad injury and missed a lot of minutes for the Madrid based side, but as soon as he regained fitness he cemented his place within the team and became one of the star performers. The left-back was vital in Rayo’s promotion achievement via the play-offs, and was crowned the club’s player of the season after his impressive showings. Now, according to various media outlets in Madrid - it appears that Rayo want to trigger a purchase option included in the loan ahead of their upcoming La Liga campaign.

For Real Madrid, this should mean some extra funding added to the desperate looking pot. Whilst Fran would actually make a fine back up option at left-back if the squad space was to emerge, it is more than likely that a buy-back clause will be inserted into any type of deal. This means that if he were to have a successful season at top level in La Liga, then the door to return would be wide open. Real Madrid still also have talented options for that back up role if needed, with current Castilla left-back Miguel Gutiérrez already proving his worth in a first team setting. This move would likely be the best outcome for all parties involved at the current time, and confirms that yet another La Fabrica product will be plying their trade at top level within a couple of seasons after flying the nest. Perhaps this is not the last we have seen of Fran García in a Real Madrid shirt.
