John Dodson will get paid after all.

The UFC bantamweight successfully made weight for his UFC Belem co-main event clash with Pedro Munhoz on Friday, but decided not to take the fight after his opponent weighed in at 140 pounds.

At first, UFC officials said that Dodson would not receive any money since he wasn’t fighting. However, MMA Fighting has confirmed that the UFC will pay him a portion of his “show money.” MMA Junkie first reported the news.

It was the first time in Munhoz’s career that he missed weight for a fight, and he cited hotel issues as the reason why he wasn’t able to hit the 135-pound mark.

”The hotel we are in has no bath tub, and the hotel they sent us to last night was out of hot water last night,” Munhoz told MMA Fighting on Friday. “I don’t lose weight in the sauna, I don’t sweat. I lose weight training, like I did yesterday, and I always leave two pounds to cut in the bath tub in the last morning. I lose that in 30, 40 minutes, easy.”

Munhoz and Dodson are hoping to reschedule this fight for an upcoming card.
