NEW YORK — Right-hander Domingo German was among the many surprises keeping the Yankees surging as they dealt with injury after injury.

Soon, they expect to have him back. Maybe even in a week.

German will start for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday, manager Aaron Boone told reporters following a 4-3 win over the Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night.

“If that all goes well there, he’ll probably join our rotation when we get back from London,” said Boone, whose club travels to England to face the Red Sox over the weekend.

German has been on the injured list since June 9 with a left hip flexor strain.

He was 9-2 with a 3.86 ERA in 13 games and 12 starts before he got hurt. He had been taking over for ace Luis Severino, who hasn’t pitched all season, dealing with right shoulder inflammation and a right lat strain.

Here are notes from the Yankees following Tuesday’s win.
