People are freezing their genitals to 'spice up' their sex life - and improve their appearance

Temperatures are as low as -160 degrees during the treatment

Spa is freezing genitals to perk up couples' love lives(Cryotherapy UK )

It's Valentine's Day and that can only mean one thing - couples everywhere are bowing to the pressure to be more romantic, more loving and more of a good partner to their other half.

Usually this means buying cards, chocolates and flowers (usually on the way home from work) and perhaps getting an early night (if you know what we mean).

But forget petrol station bouquets, this year it's all about genital freezing in one spa in Manchester.

The Ainscow Spa is offering a new treatment which aims to lift the endorphin levels and sex drive of customers - as well as improving the appearance of their intimate areas - by freezing their genitals.

The treatment from Cryotherapy UK, aptly named 'Love Mist', is available to both men and women but can only be performed by trained professionals, so don't try it at home!

The unisex treatment supposedly perks things up in the bedroom(Cryotherapy UK )

It works by blasting a -160 degree vapour via a liquid nitrogen tank over the genital area.

The nitrogen is filtered and pushed out through a funnel in the form of an ice-cold vapour during the 30-minute invigorating treatment.

How does it improve sex drive?

The spa says: "When the sub-zero temperature covers the skin, the sudden drop in heat stimulates the temperature receptors, prompting the brain to transmit messages throughout the body so the blood vessels undergo 'vasoconstriction'.
